Let’s face it – everyone has different methods to accomplish organization. There is advice all over the internet and blogs that say things like don’t multitask, have a planner, write things down, put them into your virtual calendar, and the list goes on and on.
I could give you the links to the Google searches or training and here’s the truth, do you – find you – it’s not going to be a prescriptive approach. You have to find what works for you! However, I have one piece of advice that we can all do which is plain and simple – communicate! Wait, what – communicate – how will that help me!? .
Hear me out, communication allows you to own your organization. When we ask questions regarding timelines, expectations, and workloads – we put ourselves into a better circumstance. We can own our organization and prioritize our day more easily. Admittedly, this can be a challenge in today’s environment and depending on the position. For me, my organizational methods go from the way I take notes, the way I file emails, file folders on the network, and of course the way I communicate.
Try it, you’ll see a change.
